| Welcome to Golte |
|
Golte is a high karstic plateau on the eastern edge of the Savinjske Alpe. Golte or, as the local folk call it, the Mozirje mountains belong to the range of mountains of medium height. The cave Ledenica, which even during the summer retains ice, is best known among the karstic phenomena. The highest spot of the mountain is Boskovec (1,587m) but the most famous due to attractive and well prepared ski slopes and breath-taking views is Medvedjak (1,573m).
For the last 40 years, Golte has been a mountain tourist centre. The first cable car was set in place in 1969. In recent years, the standard of skiing on Golte has risen considerably. Today we provide three chairlifts, two skilifts, and a conveyor belt for our youngest guests. In the best season, Golte was visited by 80,000 skiers, and in 2008 there were 65,000. Golte is facing a substantial financial challenge. The new majority owner, the daughter company of mining company PV Invest, has together with the employees undertaken bolt investment activities: building the road connection, modernization of the cable car, and complete renovation of the hotel Golte. Our goal is clear: Golte as the mountain tourist centre, which is today primarily known for beautiful ski slopes, should be made attractive to the visitors all year long. Quality service during active vacation for everyone – this is the motto of the mountain tourist centre Golte. |
