Instructions for skiers

Every skier must:

• act self-responsibly, as not to endanger or hurt himself, other skiers or damage the lifts;
• adapt his speed and manner of skiing or snowboarding to his personal ability and to the prevailing conditions of terrain, snow, and weather as well as to the density of traffic;
• choose a route in such a way that he does not endanger other skiers, give advantage to the skiers ahead while skiing and choose his route in such a way as not to endanger himself;
• skier or snowboarder may overtake another skier or snowboarder above or below and to the right or to the left provided that he leaves enough space for the overtaken skier or snowboarder to make any voluntary or involuntary movement;
• for stopping, resting or climbing use solely the side of the runs (not under the breaks);
• mind the signs on the run and the orders and instructions of supervisors and police officers;
• be informed of weather conditions and conditions on the ski course;
• use the appropriate equipment, appropriately set safety bindings and protection means in accordance with safety regulation;
• up to 12 years of age use safety ski helmet;
• when using ski lifts mind the safety regulations;
• when crossing or entering a marked run the skier must make sure he can do so without endangering himself or others. The same goes for any stopping on the course;
• skier, who fell and does not need the assistance of a rescuer, must leave the course as soon as possible and continue skiing. If he does not intent to continue skiing immediately, he must move to the side of the course;
• assist at an accident, provide his own information if a witness or involved in an accident or if he broke the rules of these instructions.


Skier or other persons at the ski run (except official personnel doing their job) may not:

• stop at the narrow or poorly visible parts of the slope;
• ski in the time when the course or part of the course is closed;
• set, relocate or remove signs, machines or devices on the ski run;
• ski in the manner which endangers skiers on the lifts;
• ski with damaged equipment;
• ski under the influence of alcohol or psychotropic substances if this effects their behaviour, stability or it slows down their reactions, which endangers themselves and others around them;
• pollute the ski run or its surroundings;
• ski in the forest surrounding the ski run;
• perform terrain jumps except in the areas, where this is allowed;
• leave skis or any other equipment on the ski run in the time, when the equipment is not in use, and it endangers the safety of skiers;
• lead the dogs or other animals along the ski run;
• ride snowmobiles.
