WHO IS WHO Mountain tourist centre Golte are people, young at heart and with bright future.
ERNEST KOVAČ, CEO Mountain tourist centre Golte has been for six years run by Ernest Kovač – the man to whom skiing is right up his street. After completing his studies at what is today Faculty of sport in Ljubljana, he started training alpine skiing. Kovač acted as an assistant to head Slovenian coaches Gartner and Šparovec but in 1986 he accepted a challenge and left for Canada, where he first coached the regional ski team of Vancouver and later the men and women national teams. Later he coached women skiers in Japan, Germany, Poland, and Spain. From coaching he slowly changed to managing. In Elan, he was head of competition team, who took cake of the activities in snowboarding, alpine skiing, and ski jumping. From Elan he left for the Ski Association of Slovenia, where he took over the duties of the Nordic disciplines director and, among other, led the national team at the Olympic Games in Lake Placid.
JOŽE ŠIBANC, technical manager With a degree in engineering, Jože Šibanc came to Golte in 2003 from Eso in Velenje and took over the supervision of the entire ski run infrastructure. Together with his 7 workers in the technical sector he watches over the uninterrupted functioning of the ski centre Golte. He is a passionate mushroom picker and hunter, and the proud father of his daughter Nataša and son Dane. He and his co-workers do everything in their power for the guests of Golte to feel pleasant. They receive visitors at the parking lot in Žekovec, make sure that their rides on the lifts are safe due to constant servicing and maintenance of machines, and they look after the preparation of the slopes.
MATEJ KROŠELJ, hospitality manager Matej Krošelj has a degree in work organization, though his life path led him to the hospitality business. He manages the restaurant of the Hotel Golte which offers a variety of dishes, from stews to home-made specialties. The guests supposedly like apple strudel best and this is also what Krošelj's little daughter Nika likes best. The pizzeria offers mostly fast food, from sandwiches to pizzas. At the log cabin Trije ploti guests can primarily taste the home-made specialties like: soup, žganci, goulash, kranjska klobasa (sausage). If you decide to rest at the Stari Stani cottage and sit on the terrace with the view of the ski run, our staff can also serve you grilled dishes.
MOJCA MAROLT BASTL, accounting and administration Mojca Marolt Bastl is that part of the office of the Mountain tourist centre Golte we simply cannot do without. Our CEO usually tells the new co-workers: »Ask Mojca, she knows.« And Mojca always adds: »If I don't know then there is no such thing.«
ALL OURS There are many more of our permanent and occasional co-workers. We could not do without the ski school Beli zajec (White rabbit). We also have many students who acquire new knowledge and practical experience among us: Luka, Janja, Nika, Tadej and others.
